Conclusion Of The Annual Bike Give-Away
The Richwood Community Development Agency (RCDA) recently concluded its annual bike give away activities. RCDA is a nonprofit organization that engages in community related activities throughout the year. During the Christmas holidays, RCDA offers new toys or bicycles to students who attend schools in the Richwood area. In December of 2010, 41 students from Robinson Elementary School received new bicycles or other toys of their choice. Additionally, cash donations and 35 reconditioned bicycles were provided to two local agencies (The Salvation Army and The Twin City Community Welfare). In 2009, 45 students at Swayze Elementary School received new bicycles and 28 children from the Richwood community received reconditioned bicycles. Bicycles are reconditioned by inmates at the Richwood Correctional Center (RCC) and provided to RCDA for distribution in a program collaboratively run by: Warden Clovis Tillery; the Tallulah Police Department; Reginald Kindrick, Sr. and son, Reginald Jr., of Kindrick Coach Car and Professional Limo Service; and RCC Chaplain Sam Hubbard, Pastor of New Bethany Baptist Church of Oak Ridge.
