3rd Annual Spring Into Community Service Banquet

RCDA along with the M. H. Carroll Memorial Scholarship Fund recently held the 3rd annual Spring into Community Service Banquet and Dance on April 19, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Richwood Multipurpose Building. The event was attended by over 200 people. Ladies were escorted into the banquet room by a member of the Showboat Classic Basketball Team who served as the junior usher. Musical entertainment was provided by the the Northeast Louisiana Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, and a local disc jockey. A highlight of the entertainment was a spiritual dance by the Philadelphia Word Center Diamonds. Elgin LaStrape, who has prepared the main courses for the meal the past three years, was given an outstanding service award. Awards also were provided to individuals from each organization who contributed significantly to its operations. Special awards were presented to individuals and organizations that have supported the banquet for the past 3 years by sponsoring a table each year. Additionally, tributes were provided to the sustaining member of each of the two organizations: Mrs. Carrie Simon for the M. H. Carroll Scholarship; and Mrs. Margie Davis for RCDA. Graduate students from the University of Louisiana at Monroe Psychology Department helped to organize and direct the event. Visit our Gallery to view photos from this event.
